    GFXZ ANNOUNCEMENT
    [ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ]

We found a new host! :) In about a week GFXZone will be hosted by http://www.planet-d.net. BIG thanks to Gandalf who offered us this hosting possibility so quickly. Also, thanks to all the other people who offered hosting services as well.

We are currently moving all files to the new server. The new URL will be http://gfxzone.planet-d.net. Later the www.gfxzone.org will be working as usual. The current site might go down sooner then expected(16th December), if this happens wait a few days and point your browser to http://gfxzone.planet-d.net - our new home :) See you there!

We would like to thank INF for hosting GFXZone since August 1998. This has been a good time with minimal downtime. ;) Special thanks goes to Snupi/inf(admin of the inf server) who has always been very helpful, whenever external help was needed. We wont forget you!

    ARCHIVES
New archived galleries for Dialogos '99! These archives contain some of the best pictures I have seen in a long time, so my advice is to download them all. If you are still doubting I can tell you that the pixel (514Kb) archive contains very good pictures by Saffron, Fake & Critikill . The trace (1251Kb) archive has some very cool traces, my personal favourites are by Amoc, Dough, Mha, Ruben & Syntic.
A special thank you goes to the Dialogos organizers (especially Crossbone) for their help. Thanks!

    ARCHIVES
4 new archives have been added to the archive section of the GFXZone.   A nice picture by Dax can be found in the Ukonx '99 (870Kb) archive.   The archive for Underground conference 3D '99 (856Kb) contains nice graphics by Dio, Noize & Syntic.   The smallest archive today has nice pictures by Fugitivio and Rose and is for The flash '99 (771Kb).   In my opinion the best archive in this update is for Trip '99 (2182Kb). There are some good traces by Qt, crazy, colonel and kenpex and a very nice pixel by Synthetic brush. Note that this archive contains some entries for the fast gfx compo on Trip '99 as well.

    GFXZ ANNOUNCEMENT
There seems to be a bit of confusion about the current Image of the Week pic. Almost was taken from Visualize home page, and therefore we assume it was drawn by him, and not by Visual Ice as some of you suggested (because it's signed Visual Ice). Another confusion is about the Unreal handle. There are two people who use the same handle. One Unreal is the very known Polish coder(ex Pulse) who just formed the new group Sunflower. The other Unreal is from Hungary and does gfx only(to our knowledge) and is currently being interviewed by us. Things get more confusing because Visualize and Unreal(pl coder) did work together on some productions and apparently they did a few pics together as well. Everything gets even more confusing because originally, Visualize was a member of Sunflower, but just got kicked(Saffron/TBL joined instead, btw). As for why Visualize signed his pic Visual Ice remains a mystery(a joke perhaps?). Anyway, from now on we'll write Unreal(pl) and Unreal(hu), to avoid any further confusion.
