    PARTY GALLERY
Just a quick update, but with a lot of quality graphics! We created a party gallery with compo graphics for the Mekka & Symposium 2001 party!

This is only a preview of the gallery, because a handful of graphics from the compos are not yet available. As soon as we have those, a final version of the gallery will be created.

But this way you can already take a look at most of the images from the compos. I think you will agree that the pictures are stunning and the quality is very high! So many good graphicians were competing at this party, that this gallery will be one of the best on the GFXZone! Enter the preview version of this new gallery here.

Finally my compliments to the Mekka & Symposium crew for making this party happen. I had a great time!

Root88 / Ice submitted a news-items regarding their renewed website:

The ever popular tiles game at tiles.ice.org has been completely recoded! There are dozens of new features, including multiple public and private quilts, user voting, feedback forms for every tile, and much more! If you have never seen the tiles game you should definitely check it out. Basically, a large image is created by having individual artists do one tile at a time. When an artist checks out a tile, they don't get to see the tiles around theirs. They only get a 15-pixel strip from the bordering tiles. This allows them to blend their tile in with the others without being able to tell what it's blending into.

    THEME GALLERY
Every graphician that has ever created palette-based images knows that it is possible to hide messages in those images. Once every while the GFXZone puts a couple of images with hidden messages online. Today is one of those days and we present you with the third edition of our Hidden message gallery.

As usual we first give you the opportunity to find the hidden messages yourself. In one of our next updates we will upload a gallery that shows the same pics with the hidden messages highlighted. You can discover the messages right now by visiting our new hidden message gallery, part 3

This new gallery has images by Facet, Lazur, Leunam, Made, Mustafa, Zone & many others. Go ahead and try to discover what these graphicians are feeding your subconsious mind! Thanks to Mr Ed for his help in locating the messages!

    GALLERIES
For this update the GFXZone is able to offer you a very cool make-over on the personal gallery of Critikill, who is a graphician for Azuma & Farb-rausch.

This personal gallery was first created in May 2000, and since that time Critikill has created a lot of new images. As a result 29(!) images have been added to his online personal gallery on the GFXZone. Note that a lot of these images have never been released before!

At that time we also did an interview with Critikill, this interview is still online for you to read. Just don't forget to visit the updated Critikill personal gallery here, as there is some unique material to enjoy!

Note: the images in the first part of this personal gallery were also present in the previous Critikill gallery. So if you are looking for the added images you should jump to the second or third part of the gallery by clicking on the little number-buttons just above the thumbnails in the gallery. These buttons will take you straight to updated parts of the Critikill gallery. Enjoy!

    GALLERIES
Finally there is another update to the GFXZone! A big thank you to all the concerned people who mailed.

Today's update adds a lot of archived galleries for demoparties from 2001, and the first one is for Synthesis 2001. This party was held last weekend near Paris in France and the quality of the compo graphics is very acceptible! Plenty of good graphics available from Krabob, Nytrik, Shi, Zaac, Zone and ofcourse the current image of the week by Lenudist. Download the complete set here (2340KB).

The next archive is for MindReSources 2001. One of the compos on this party was for vector-based graphics, and this unusual compo had some nice entries. All the graphics from this party are combined in one archive (1668KB).

Other uploaded archives contain the compo graphics for Iradium 2001 (522KB), Mekanisaatio 2001 (803KB) and Performance 2001, where Random won first place in both the pixel (657KB) and the trace (615KB) compos.

Partikle now has his own personal gallery on the GFXZone!

The gallery shows 20 of his scene pictures, and this collection contains a lot of pictures that you will probably recognize from party compos. But Partikle is a graphician who draws a lot of "real-life" images using traditional techniques and tools. These images are however not included in this gallery :)
